Acer Announces Curved 3440x1440 AMD FreeSync Monitor - XR341CK Coming In July Featuring A 34" 75Hz 21:9 IPS Panel

Acer has just announced the XR341CK, a 34" AMD FreeSync capable gaming monitor with a curved 3440x1440 IPS brandish panel launching in July. If you lot think you lot're familiar with Acer's variable refresh rate curved gaming monitor that's probably because you are. As Acer has already announced the Thousand-Sync variant of this monitor back in April and showcased it at Computex before this month.

Acer XR341CK With AMD FreeSyncAdaptive-Sync capable monitors featuring Nvidia'southward G-Sync and AMD's FreeSync technologies solve three distinct bug in games. The outset issue is tearing, tearing occurs whenever your game's frame rate is mismatched to the refresh rate of your monitor. Which is the result of your graphics card producing a variable frame rate. No thing how fast your gaming arrangement is it volition always produce a variable frame charge per unit. This is because some frames i.east. images are very circuitous and would have longer than usual to process, while other frames are more simple and thus are processed much more than quickly.

The 2nd result is somewhat related to the commencement, as stuttering can occur if your framerate dips below the refresh rate of your monitor when 5-Sync is enabled. 5-Sync works to match your game'south framerate to the refresh rate of the monitor by forcing each frame to wait for the adjacent refresh bike before it is drawn onto the screen. This is to prevent 2 frames from being drawn at in one case in a single refresh cycle which causes tearing.
The 3rd issue is input-lag, which is the result of that "waiting" period that each frame has to become through before its drawn on the screen when V-Sync is enabled.
So earlier variable refresh rate monitors had existed, irrespective of whether they were 1000-Sync or FreeSync enabled. You had to cull betwixt either trigger-happy and stuttering or latency.

Another interesting office of this announcement is the MSRP, which is a hefty $1,099 but still $200 less than the $one,299 request price for Thousand-Sync variant.
This is because as you lot're probably aware past now, dissimilar K-Sync, FreeSync doesn't require any proprietary hardware as it's enabled through the DisplayPort one.2a Adaptive-Sync standard. G-Sync on the other hand requires the addition of the Nvidia 1000-Sync module to the monitor, which manifestly adds a couple hundred dollars to the cost of the monitor.

The XR341CK features a curved 34" 21:nine QHD (3440x1440) IPS display panel with a 4ms response time and a 75Hz refresh charge per unit, which is as fast equally ultrawide IPS panels tin can go these days.
