Some Hilton hotel rooms are getting a high-tech upgrade.
The hotel chain unveiled a connected room concept it's trialing now, and planning to roll out to its properties across the US in 2022. Guests who stay in one of the company's connected rooms volition be able to control the thermostat, lights, TV, and window coverings from the Hilton Honors app on their smartphone. Guests will also be able to load their streaming media accounts onto the TV in the room, Hilton said.
As part of its beta exam, Hilton has already built a connected room in i hotel and plans to deploy several more than "in the coming weeks."

In the longer term, guests volition exist able to use voice commands to control their room and admission their content, Hilton said. Plus, to make information technology feel a little more than like home, guests volition too be able to upload their own artwork and photos "to automatically display in their room."
Meanwhile, Hilton Honors members can already utilize the app to cheque in, select their room, and as a digital central to open the door. The visitor said users accept downloaded 4 million digital keys and used them for room access more 18.7 million times.
